The Pre-School program (wearing green (Green Machine) T-shirts) is a non-competitive experience designed for children age 3 1/2 - 5 1/2 (as of July 1). The goals are to provide exercise and fun while raising an awareness of basic track and field skills, often disguised in games. Children are divided into small groups based on size and age. A typical evening's events might include:
  • running event or hurdles (6" - 12")
  • team activity
  • fun game
  • mystery race
  • popsicle at end of evening
To the delight of the pre-schoolers, we try to emulate some of the aspects of the older programs such as
  • holding running events on the track where possible
  • ribbons for all (not distinguishing 1st, 2nd, etc.)
  • participation in special activities -- such as trophy night where all children receive a trophy
This program has two sessions: Session 1: 5:35- 6:35 pm Session 2: 6:55 - 7:55 pm
