Great Bear Run Draws 1400+
Runners turned out in strength for our 23rd Great Bear Run with runners from 87 towns as far away as Las Vegas and from 6 months old to 81 years young in age.46-year old Peter Hammer of Needham clocked 16:18.7 to win the 5K. Jessica Rice of Needham was tops for the gals in 18:09.7, recording the 3rd best time in GBR history.

South Shore Fireboltz Win Needham Youth Classic
Jordan Samuels, Amanda Pasko, Cassidy Palmer and Peter Crapsey, Jr. ShineNearly 500 came to compete in the 23rd Needham Youth Classic. Competition included 12 running events (from 50 to 3000 meters) and 8 field events. 27 meet records fell in the almost perfect weather. South Shore Fireboltz won their 1st team championship. 16-year-old Amanda Pasko captured 6 events and set 4 records. (Updated 8/3/12)

All-Star Meet Survives Rain
Peter Crapsey Jr. wins 6 events, Gregory Melusky 5 eventsOver 200 hardy athletes came together in the Needham All-Star Meet on Wednesday, August 1.
